It addresses the critical vulnerability of electronic equipment to disturbances originating from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), nearby lightning strikes, and electrical surges caused by "hot-plugging" charged cables. By isolating the serial interface from these high-energy events, the SP485-S preserves the integrity of connected devices.
The device achieves this robust protection through a multi-stage defense mechanism that combines current limitation, aggressive voltage clamping, and surge arresting. By grounding and dissipating harmful electrical energy before it can reach the serial port, the SP485-S provides a reliable safeguard. SP PR10G is a PoE surge protector, with 1 input port and 1 output port, support 8 lines network signals and PoE Surge protection. It is designed to handle differential mode surge voltage (8/20us) 4KV and Common mode surge voltage (8/20us) 6KV, and  support 100/1000Mbps. It is compliant with IEEE802.3af/at/PoE++ standard and protects PoE switch and Midspan devices effectively against surge damage. SP PoE PR10G is designed for indoor use.

Electronic equipment is susceptible to transient disturbances from a variety of sources including ESD to an open connector or Interface, direct or nearby lightning strikes to cables and wires, and charged cables “hot plugged” into I/O ports. SP485 is designed to protect the Serial port from damage which may result from such transient events. The protection includes current limitation, voltage clamping, grounding the lightning and surge arresting using a mix of various protection devices to obtain a well-balanced surge protector. This a good alternative for long cable runs through noisy areas or during lightening & noisy transients.
